Event Center
A Place to Gather
A centerpiece of the master plan is an expanded Event Center from 64,000 sf. to 182,800 sf. with indoor/outdoor spaces that can host exceptional events, experiences, and an environment that fosters community.
An essential part of the expansion are outdoor areas with a green lawn and public plazas to host concerts, family movies, sporting events, cultural festivals, public programming, seasonal uses such as a farmers’ market, winter ice-skating rink, and everyday community at play.
Providing areas for connectivity is an important design principle. In creating these spaces and uses, please consider taking our survey to further assist our planning efforts.
Proposed Expansion Plan
The expansion allows the Event Center to host multiple events at one time, up to 2,500 visitors.
Current surface parking will be located in a new, multi-story public parking garage with Uber/Lyft locations. The garage will be aesthetically designed with retail spaces wrapped around the exterior to hide the parking with lush plantings. All the onsite commercial spaces will be designed to curate local, small business retail.

Public Plazas

We are exploring renting frisbees, soccer balls, lawn chairs for family movie nights. Items that let you be spontaneous in using the lawn or attending an event.

Commitments:
Equity and Inclusion
We are already working to engage and support local, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses as suppliers and key partners with the Event Center. By prioritizing these businesses, The District aims to promote inclusivity, while contributing to the growth and success of these underrepresented entrepreneurs.
Sustainability Commitment – Net Zero Waste
The project will be built with green environmental methods and will have onsite infrastructure to meet zero waste, sustainable energy, and water consumption goals.
Ready in Place Disaster Response Site
We are exploring the design feasibility of the Event Center serving as a regional ready in place, disaster preparedness and response site.
